Most usually came on the east coast when the boys were spending time together on the road. The only 2 west coast breakouts I can think of are The Same thing and New Speedway Boogie. Any others I'm missing?

I actually snuck in and saw the New Speedway sound check. I kept the secret, but called it early in tuning w/ many doubters!

My buddy was a newby in AZ and we were at Motel 6 the night before partying w/ a bunch of east coast heads. My buddy says...."I hope they play HCSS, because the storms on the road were so intense". A few snickers could be heard among the group.....next day...Bam!

Hey I was at all three of those shows. Think I'd recognize ya'all in a dark parking lot. Big Boss Man 12-31-89, Anyway, not sure if this is a true breakout but I'd not heard it or of it being played in the immediate previous years.

I was at that one too! I don't think it counts as a break out but it was nice. What I remember was being impressed by Bonny Raitts slide playing. I've never been a fan of hers but I was impressed how she played.

I thought she was quite impressive at this show and Jerry Seemed pretty into it. Anyway if not a breakout song this should be considered a breakout show with the first west coast Dark Star since I don't know when and the First Midnight Hour for quite a while I think, along with that Big Boss man to boot. I think I Need to get and relive this show for sure.

First one in 2 years. I guess not quite break out but still rare for the time. The Happy semi-breakout New Years show.
